Aftercare Protocol
Your Aesthetic Post-Treatment Protocol
Clinical guidance to protect your investment, accelerate healing, and secure optimal structural results.
The First 4 to 6 Hours (Critical Phase)
- Stay Upright: Do not lie down, lean forward heavily, or bend over for at least 4 hours after neurotoxin injections (Botox/Xeomin/Dysport) to prevent the product from migrating to unintended muscles.
- Do Not Touch: Avoid touching, rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas. Let the products settle exactly where they were clinically placed.
- Keep Skin Bare: Leave the skin completely clean and free of makeup or skin care products for the remainder of the day to protect the micro-injection sites from bacteria.
The First 24 to 48 Hours (Healing Phase)
- Avoid Intense Heat: Stay away from saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, solariums, and direct, intense sunlight, as extreme heat increases swelling and inflammation.
- Pause Strenuous Exercise: Do not engage in heavy workouts, vigorous lifting, or high-intensity cardio. Increased blood pressure can worsen bruising and swelling at the injection sites.
- Sleep Strategically: Sleep flat on your back with your head slightly elevated on an extra pillow. This uses gravity to naturally reduce swelling and prevents pressure on your new facial contouring.
- Skip Alcohol: Continue to avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours post-treatment to minimize any lingering bruising risks.
The First 2 Weeks (Settling Phase)
- No Facial Treatments: Do not book facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, or facial massages for at least 14 days after your appointment.
- Manage Swelling Naturally: Mild asymmetry, swelling, bumps, or tenderness are completely normal. You may gently apply a clean, cloth-wrapped cold compress to the area for 5–10 minutes at a time if needed.
- Allow Full Settling: Remember that neurotoxins take up to 14 days to fully lock into place, and dermal fillers require 2 weeks to integrate into your facial tissue. Your final, beautifully balanced results will be visible at the 2-week mark.
Emergency Clinical Escalation
While temporary swelling and bruising are expected, please contact Cassandra, RN, immediately if you experience severe or worsening pain, skin blanching (turning white/gray), skin mottled appearance, changes in vision, or a temperature localized to the injection site. Your health is our highest priority.
