Patient Preparation
How to Prepare for Your Aesthetic Injectable Appointment
Follow these precise clinical guidelines to minimize bruising, optimize safety, and ensure the best possible results.
7 Days Before Your Appointment
-
Pause Blood Thinners (With Medical Clearance) If medically safe and cleared by your prescribing physician, avoid taking over-the-counter blood thinners such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), Naproxen (Aleve), and high-dose Vitamin E.
-
Suspend Specific Supplements Stop taking supplements that increase bleeding and bruising risks, including Fish Oil, Omega-3s, Flaxseed Oil, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic pills, and St. John’s Wort.
48 Hours Before Your Appointment
-
Avoid Alcohol Do not consume alcoholic beverages for at least 48 hours prior to your session, as alcohol dilates blood vessels and significantly increases your chance of bruising and swelling.
-
Skin Care Restrictions Discontinue aggressive topical products on the treatment area, including Retinol, Retin-A, Glycolic Acid, and any strong chemical exfoliating serums.
-
Hair Removal Avoid waxing, plucking, threading, or using hair-removal creams on the areas to be treated to prevent acute skin irritation.
The Day of Your Appointment
-
Arrive Clean-Faced Please arrive at the clinic or prepare for your mobile session with a completely clean face, free of makeup, heavy moisturizers, or sunscreens.
-
Eat and Hydrate Eat a light meal or snack and drink plenty of water before your appointment to keep your blood sugar stable and prevent dizziness.
-
Plan Around Travel Ensure you do not have any major public events, professional photo sessions, or international flights scheduled for at least 2 weeks after your treatment to allow any normal swelling or minor bruising to completely subside.
